- [Musician – Martin Meyer](https://carmelsymphony.org/musician-martin-meyer/): Marty Meyer is a professional cellist of Indianapolis, Indiana. He has performed with several regional orchestras, including the Fort Wayne Philharmonic, Civic Orchestra of Chicago, Carmel Symphony (Associate Principal), Terre Haute Symphony, and Columbus Indiana Philharmonic. He has taught many students of all ages in Fort Wayne, Chicago, and Indianapolis.
- [Musician – Kris Zaloudek](https://carmelsymphony.org/musician-kris-zaloudek/): Kris Zaloudek has been a violinist in the Carmel Symphony Orchestra for 23 years. Outside of the CSO, she volunteers extensively in her community, including teaching English as a Second Language to adults and serving at the Grace Care Center food pantry. For 10 years, she led the Westfield High School Invisible Strings orchestra club, as Westfield does not offer an orchestra program in the school district. She wanted young people to have the opportunity to be part of a string ensemble and to "play for the love of music.” She also taught private violin lessons for many years. Her favorite CSO performance was the Concert in the Quarry because of the unique concert venue at the bottom of the Martin-Marietta Quarry.

She is a member of the Lafayette, Terre Haute, and Danville Symphony Orchestras, and is a frequent sub with orchestras throughout the midwest including the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, Traverse Symphony and many others.

Growing up in Carmel, Keli began playing in the Carmel Symphony when she was in high school. - [Musician – Chris Van Hof](https://carmelsymphony.org/musician-chris-van-hof/): Chris Van Hof is the Associate Professor of Trombone at Ball State University. He also is the Assistant Manager of the International Trombone Festival. Chris is a Performing Artist for S. E. Shires Custom Brass Instruments.
- [Musician – Tamara Thweatt](https://carmelsymphony.org/musician-tamara-thweatt/): Flutist Tamara Thweatt has performed across the US and in Europe as a soloist, chamber, and orchestral musician. She serves as Principal Flute with the Carmel Symphony Orchestra and the Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra. Previously, she was Piccolo and 3rd Flute of the Los Angeles Philharmonic and has served as guest musician in subscription concerts of the Chicago Symphony, National Symphony, Minnesota Orchestra, Detroit Symphony, and Indianapolis Symphony. As a soloist she has appeared with the Bach Sinfonia of Washington D.C., the Pontiac Oakland Symphony in Michigan, the Charlotte Symphony, Michigan Chamber Players, Tippecanoe Chamber Music Society, and University Orchestras and Bands at both the University of Iowa and University of Indianapolis. As a Fulbright Scholar to England, Thweatt spent a year of intensive study in the studio of Trevor Wye and performed in Fulbright-sponsored recitals in London and Berlin. She recently performed in Jelgava, Latvia as a musical ambassador for the city of Carmel, IN.
- [Musician – Anna Thompson-Danilova](https://carmelsymphony.org/musician-anna-thompson-danilova/): Originally from St. Petersburg, Russia, Anna Thompson-Danilova is currently holding substitute positions with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, Louisville Symphony Orchestra, Fort Wayne Philarmonic as well as the Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra. Nationally and internationally, she has been a substitute in the New World Symphony Orchestra, Florida and performed both as a principal player as well as soloist with the Zazerkalie Orchestra and the Conservatory Orchestra of St. Petersburg. Anna has given solo performances in the United States, Russia and Europe. She is currently the principal cello of the Carmel Symphony and Orchestra Indiana, and current cello faculty at Indiana Wesleyan and Taylor universities. Her students are regular winners of regional competitions.

An active chamber and studio musician in the Indianapolis region, she has performed with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, Indianapolis Symphonic Choir, Indianapolis Opera, for touring production shows, and community orchestras including the Richmond, Muncie, and Lafayette Symphony Orchestras. Kara is a member of the electric rock band Rock E Bassoon, which provides unique and creative performances for local venues and charities.

Monika is a general music and choral director in the Hamilton Southeastern Schools district. She received a BME in Music Education from Indiana University and an MME from Butler University.

- [Musician – Mark Stempel](https://carmelsymphony.org/musician-mark-stempel/): Mark Stempel has performed in the percussion section of the Carmel Symphony Orchestra since 2004. In addition to the Carmel Symphony, Mark has performed with the Columbus Indiana Philharmonic, Owensboro (KY) Symphony, Evansville Philharmonic, and Terre Haute Symphony.

Born in Phoenix, AZ, to Taiwanese immigrants, Kevin moved to Carmel when he was 5 years old and is a proud alumnus of Carmel Clay Schools. Kevin has been a member of the Carmel Symphony Orchestra since 2016, when he joined as a section violinist while a resident physician. Now an attending radiation oncologist and assistant professor in the Department of Radiation Oncology at Indiana University, Kevin has continued to dedicate himself to the cultural fabric of his hometown.

- [Musician – Joerg Schreiber](https://carmelsymphony.org/musician-joerg-schreiber/): Dr. Joerg Schreiber holds a Ph.D. in physics from Giessen University, Germany, specialized in biophysics and was a post doc at the National Institute for Environmental Health Sciences in Research Triangle Park, NC, USA.
- [Musician – Liza Saracina](https://carmelsymphony.org/musician-liza-saracina/): In addition to Liza Saracina’s position as the Second Oboe/English Horn in the Carmel Symphony Orchestra, she is the Principal Oboe in the Kentucky Symphony Orchestra, Principal Oboe in the Columbus Indiana Philharmonic, Second Oboe/English horn in the Owensboro Symphony Orchestra, and Second Oboe in the Terre Haute Symphony Orchestra. She has appeared as a soloist with the Uptown Chamber Orchestra and the Kentucky Symphony Orchestra, and frequently plays with the Lafayette Symphony Orchestra and the Richmond Symphony Orchestra in Indiana.
- [Musician – Lev Roshal](https://carmelsymphony.org/musician-lev-roshal/): Lev Roshal, violinist, is delighted to enter his second year with the Carmel Symphony Orchestra.  Hailing from Rochester, NY, he is currently a doctoral student at Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music, where he is pursuing simultaneous degrees in Music Theory (PhD) and Violin Performance and Literature (DM), with a minor in Ethnomusicology. At Jacobs, he is the newly elected president of the Graduate Theory Association and serves as a coordinating instructor of music theory and musical skills. In the Spring of 2024, Lev was deeply honored to have been named the dedicatee of Andrew Mead’s Sonata No. 2 for Solo Violin, following a performance of the work on one of his recitals. Outside of Indiana, Lev is the concertmaster of the Ohio Light Opera. His debut album, with pianist Albert Newberry, is entitled Sergei Bortkiewicz: Complete Works for Violin and Piano, and is available for purchase and streaming on all major platforms. When not playing or writing about music, Lev enjoys a good board or soccer game and is an avid orienteerer.

- [Musician – Laura Recendez](https://carmelsymphony.org/musician-laura-recendez/): A native of California, flutist Laura Recendez is a highly sought after orchestral musician based in Indianapolis. She serves as principal flute of Columbus Indiana Philharmonic, and second flute with Carmel Symphony, and Anderson Symphony Orchestra. She serves as piccolo with the Lafayette Symphony Orchestra, but will hold the position of interim principal flute for the upcoming 23-24 season. She is also the interim second flute with the Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra, and appears regularly with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra.
- [Musician – Sara Petokas](https://carmelsymphony.org/musician-sara-petokas/): An active performer and educator based in Indianapolis, Sara Petokas performs regularly on both modern and period instruments. Sara holds a Bachelors in Music Education from Mansfield University, a Masters in Horn Performance from the Eastman School of Music and is currently finishing her Doctorate in Horn Performance and Literature from Indiana University. Sara is Horn Instructor at Wheaton College and Conservatory in Illinois. She is also the lead teaching artist and writes the curriculum for El Sistema Indianapolis which provides music education to underserved students.
- [Musician – Katherine Peters](https://carmelsymphony.org/musician-katherine-peters/): A teaching musician for over 20 years, Katherine helps students, teachers, and fellow musicians learn, teach, and play better. She excels at packaging concepts into practical, applicable, useful strategies that can be delivered one-on-one in the studio or to a lecture hall full of musicians. The underlying message in her teaching: you can do this. Katherine is also a published composer/arranger. Her arrangements have been performed by students, community ensembles, and church ensembles across the country.

- [Musician – Kathleen Moniaci](https://carmelsymphony.org/musician-kathleen-moniaci/): Kathleen Moniaci enjoys a multi-faceted career in Indianapolis as a performer, teacher and repair woman.
- [Musician – Andrew Meyer](https://carmelsymphony.org/musician-andrew-meyer/): Mr. Meyer began playing tuba in fifth grade and attended I.P.S. Howe High School where he was Principal Tuba of both the Indianapolis All-City Band and All-City Orchestra. Andy received his Bachelors of Music Education (B.M.E.) and Masters of Music (M.M.) in Tuba Performance degrees from Butler University’s Jordan College of Fine Arts and also studied at the Chicago Musical College of Roosevelt University.

- [Musician – Melanie Mashner](https://carmelsymphony.org/musician-melanie-mashner/): Professional harpist Melanie Mashner is passionate about bringing joy to the people around her through music. Melanie is the Principal Harpist of the Carmel Symphony Orchestra, the resident orchestra at the Palladium in Carmel, Indiana, as well as the Terre Haute Symphony Orchestra. She also serves as Personnel Manager for the CSO and maintains a private harp, cello, and piano studio in northern Indianapolis. As the Graduate Assistant Instructor in Harp for the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music from 2018-2020, Melanie worked and studied with renowned international concert artists Florence Sitruk, Susann McDonald, Elizabeth Hainen, Emile Naumouff, and many others. Melanie lived in Vienna, Austria for six months where she worked with Vienna Philharmonic Harpist, Anneleen Lenaerts, as the Global Leader Award recipient from the National Society of Leadership and Success, and was also a scholarship recipient at the 2018 Bowdoin International Music Festival with renowned harpist June Han.

Professionally she is a pharmacist who started working retail and is currently in a nursing home pharmacy. For 11 years she was a merchandise buyer for the drug chain predecessor to CVS. Ann is now retired, working as a pharmacist per diem. Besides her love of performing with the Carmel Symphony, she enjoys Purdue sports (specifically football & basketball) regularly singing in her church choir, and performing with the bell choir.

- [Musician – Alexa Lang](https://carmelsymphony.org/musician-alexa-lang/): Violinist Alexa Lang is originally from Orlando, Florida. She recently completed her Bachelor of Music at Florida State University in Violin Performance under the tutelage of Corinne Stillwell. As an active orchestral musician, she has performed with many orchestras across the Southeast, including the Tallahassee Symphony Orchestra, Panama City Symphony Orchestra, Sinfonia Gulf Coast orchestra, and Columbus (GA) Symphony Orchestra. She has had the opportunity to perform in other states and abroad by participating in the Brevard Music Festival and Vienna Summer Music Festival, as well as tour Europe and the U.S. with her pre-professional orchestra in high school. As a soloist and chamber musician, she was a finalist in the Northwest Florida Symphony Orchestra Concerto Competition and was a Charleston International Music Competition winner in the College Quartet Division.
- [Musician – Virginia Kundrat](https://carmelsymphony.org/musician-virginia-kundrat/): Ginny Kundrat has been a member of the CSO horn section since 1992.  She earned degrees in music and in chemistry, and feels privileged to have worked in both fields.  Ginny taught chemistry and physics courses at Carmel High School for 23 years, and worked as a chemist prior to that.  She has enjoyed playing the horn with the orchestra and in smaller chamber groups.  Her horn instructors were Melanie Kocher and Norm Hannewald.

Born in Seoul, South Korea, Kim began her training on the violin at age five. Based in Indianapolis, Indiana, Kim is an Associate Concertmaster of Carmel Symphony Orchestra, and regularly plays with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra and Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra. She was the former Principal Second Violin of Lafayette Symphony Orchestra as The Esther & Richard Crowder Estate Chair.
