Breakin’ Classical: A Fusion of Dance and Symphony
Witness the FLY Dance Company bring a unique breakdancing style to the Palladium, creating a stunning visual and auditory experience. If you were captivated by the B-boys and B-girls who competed for the first time this year at the Olympic games in Paris, you won’t want to miss this spectacular showcase of contemporary dance right here at the Center for the Performing Arts.
Repertoire for the evening includes “Hoe Down” by Aaron Copland, “Hungarian Dance No. 6” by Johannes Brahms, “L’Arlesienne Suite No. 2” by Georges Bizet and other timeless pieces that will have you tapping along.
Mélisse Brunet
Mélisse Brunet is a French American conductor lauded for her work with orchestras across the United States and beyond. She was featured in the David Letterman-backed film “Maestra,” which features five incredible women from around the world who are boldly breaking glass ceilings in the male-dominated world of orchestral conducting.
