Music Matters

Music Matters is one of the educational outreach programs of the Carmel Symphony Orchestra. We invite area fifth graders to a free interactive concert at the Payne & Mencias Palladium to discover the instruments, their sounds and how they blend to make up an orchestra.

The Carmel Symphony Orchestra offers free concerts to area fifth and sixth graders as a part of its educational outreach. These concerts are designed especially for fifth- and sixth-grade students. These interactive performances introduce young audiences to the sights, sounds, and stories of the orchestra, sparking curiosity and a lifelong appreciation for the arts.

The Music Matters program aligns with the CSO’s mission to engage the community through outstanding musical performances, education, and outreach. Through the years, these concerts have become a much-anticipated event for local schools, offering both entertainment and educational value by connecting music to history, culture and creativity.

While these concerts are presented at no charge to the students, the CSO seeks support from area corporations, individuals and grants to cover the production costs of these performances.
